The City of San Marcos offers a "Roof Mounted Solar PV Expedited" permit through its online portal for single-family homes that use the city's standard central inverter or microinverter plans, with an estimated processing time of one to three business days. It also offers a self-issued permit through SolarAPP+, which only contractors can use and which checks the design for code compliance.
